The Escherichia coli bacteria or E coli enter the urinary tract through the urethra to cause UTI. Eat acidophilus yoghurt daily to reduce infection.

Do not take drinks that are rich in caffeine and avoid alcohol too. Take showers in place of baths as it will keep you and others away from infection. You have to avoid scented shower gels and bubble baths too. Wear loose fit trousers and cotton under garments. Do not use any scented feminine products.
